Small, but does it all!

The best cable is the one you have with you, and this cable is incredibly capable and handy! I was able to use it for ~90w charging along with 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 / USB4 data transfer, and it's e-marker reports that it can handle quite a bit more.

The only real limitation is that the cable is too short for a lot of scenarios. But, for something like connecting a phone, external SSD, or other small device to your laptop, this cable is great. It can also work for a USB-C / Thunderbolt dock if it's right next to your computer.

I was able to use this cable to connect my laptop to my Thunderbolt 3 dock, which in turn drove a 5k60 display while simultaneously maxing out a 10Gbps external SSD and charging my laptop. All of that power and data went over this tiny little cable without any hiccups at all.

The e-marker in the cable reports that it can handle up to USB 4 Gen 4 and Thunderbolt 5, both at 80Gbps, as well as 50V @ 5A / 240W charging. (50V @ 5A is actually 250W, but I believe the chargers are only supposed to go up to 48V / 240W, and the reported extra 2V support is just a bit of margin for safety.) I don't have any devices that can hit that level of data transfer, but based on what I do have, I'm fairly confident that the cable would be up to the task.

I had to use an extension cable to connect this one to my cable tester, but by subtracting the extensions cable's resistance I was able to land on a resistance measurement of only 23mΩ, which is incredibly low - in the ballpark of 0.5% power loss in the worst case scenario.

Both ends of the cable have a little soft blue light that turns on when it's powered. It's a very pleasant level of brightness, and something that wouldn't bother me in a dark room.

I also appreciate that this cable is labeled with all of it's capabilities. Both ends have 240W and a thunderbolt symbol, and the middle says "80 Gbps".

The cap / keychain connector has a surprisingly strong grip on the cable. I was initially concerned that it might fall off, but I think that is only feasible if it got snagged on something and yanked pretty hard.

The little metal carabiner-like connector also feels fairly sturdy and reliable.

All-in-all, I'm very happy with this cable. It's going to come with me on a regular basis, and just by virtue of having it on me, I think it's going to see a lot of use.
