I had some trouble with how this book began. I had only just finished reading How to Burn a Witch when I began reading this so excuse me, if I was like WTF who in their right mind would take a witch back to Elizabethan England? I found myself having a hard time suspending my disbelief but eventually got most of the way there. It was wild what a big deal the author made about Diana not fitting in but after such a short time it was no big deal and was never mentioned again? Okay. 🤷♀️That was a choice.
This book is long and does have a slow pace, but I still found it worth my time. Listening to the audiobook at 1.5 probably helped with the pacing and helped to at least make it feel like things were moving along. I found the first part the hardest to get through. The rest went pretty swimmingly.
