😮💨 I wanted to like this a lot and had VERY HIGH hopes after how much I loved Atalanta. Alas it was not really my cup of tea.
We all know Zeus is the original predatory fuck boy and he had to be a big part of Hera’s story but her resignation to be his wife after her rape was so incredibly disheartening.
I did enjoy how this particular story chose to dip farther back into the Titans, the war with Cronos, and Gaia. I also found the idea of making Hera the sole parent of Typhon interesting and intriguing.
Hera’s wrath at the lovers and children of Zeus seems misdirected the entire time. We know who is the problem here and it ain’t them. (It’s Zeus. It is always Zeus.)
I finished this and found the ending thought provoking but the journey to get there was lack luster at best.
